Film poster analysis task

In this image it becomes obvious that Frankie (Danny Dyer) is the main character that the film is focused on. The film tells the story of Frankie who is on the run from South London and looking to build a life of crime, in a firm, set in the Costa Del Sol in the early 80's.

In today's lesson we were taught how to analyse film posters based on 'Semiotics'.

Denotations: What is easily seen when we first look at an image.

• The characters are sitting around a pool looking relaxed except for Charlie (Tamer Hassan) who is holding a gun in a suit.

Connotations: The feelings or thoughts associated with that image.

• The blue in the image represents the calmness of Frankie and the life in Spain. 
• Frankie is in the center of the camera angle with the other two characters looking at him. Which links to the plot of the film towards the end where they all wait on his demand.
